      World Trademark Review 1000 2020

      ​Showcasing robust and reputable rankings in this year's edition of the World Trademark Review, Rouse has been described as "an undisputed leader when it comes to pan-Asian IP practice as well as a top global consultancy".

      Rouse has continued to top international firm rankings this year by taking home tier one status in China (Foreign Firm), Indonesia (Prosecution & Strategy), Myanmar, United Arab Emirates and Vietnam. 

      China receives recognition for its "edge over other firms in China when dealing with international IP cases". Described as "one of the largest trademark practices in an international firm", the China team is praised for taking on "some of the most diverse trademark work among foreign outfits in the region" while continuing to deliver excellent results in both contentious and non-contentious matters. In Indonesia, Rouse is described as "a stalwart in Southeast Asia" who "runs one of the slickest IP operations in the region". The team in UAE team is praised for being "responsive, pragmatic and each practitioner having vast knowledge of the region". WTR sees Rouse Legal in Vietnam as a "heavyweight in the Southeast Asian market" who is continuously "making great strides". 

      Our teams in both Philippines and Thailand maintain their rankings with Baranda & Associates being noted for their "keen understanding of trademark issues in the Philippines and dedication to customer service". Rouse Legal in Hong Kong "is one of the few firms that really stand out" for Prosecution & Strategy. In Russia, WTR gives praise to its operations claiming when "protecting trademark rights in emerging markets, no firm does it better than Rouse".

      WTR sees new recommendations for Theresa Mak who is "highly competent" and Hatty Cui for "her knowledge of the IP landscape in China which has proven invaluable to our working relationship." Adelaide Yu is merited as an "enforcement aficionado" who provides "excellent insight into the different complexities in the Asia-Pacific region". 

      Nick Redfearn is acclaimed for his wealth of experience in the Far East, while being "well placed to advise rights holders on a consummate regional strategy". Myanmar's Moe Mynn Thu is "an excellent first port of call", while Claire Corral "prosecutes trademarks for multinationals with conspicuous flair" in the Philippines. Stuart Adams is praised as a "veteran global enforcer with exceptional strategic vision" who demonstrates strong leadership, and Jeremy Newman in the UK is deemed "a practitioner has made a name for himself as one of the best in the business".

      "First-class practitioner", Yen Vu, is recognised for her "superb efforts in developing the practice in Vietnam". Sara Holder in the UAE is a "dynamite in patent matters… who packs a punch in brand protection strategies and portfolio work". Equally praised, Bassel El Turk is acclaimed for his expertise with WTR citing that his "advice meets the highest of professional standards" as there is "no one better for litigation or anti-counterfeiting matters".
